Early enough to be first and late enough to be relevant. Reaching a customer at thirty days out means competing with everyone who reached them at ninety.
Home / Dealership programs / LEASE-END RETENTION
A maturing lease is an appointment
somebody is going to get.
A lease customer is going to have a conversation about their next vehicle whether or not it happens at your store. Lease-end retention is about being early and specific enough that the conversation happens in your showroom. Sire targets the maturity window, states the pull-ahead case plainly, and matches the result back against delivered units.
The audience, defined before
anything is printed.
Audience selection is where a mail campaign is won or lost. These are the selections we work from for this program.
Customers whose remaining payments a program or equity position can absorb, making an early exit realistic rather than aspirational.
Customers tracking over their allowance, for whom an early move avoids an excess-mileage bill they have not thought about yet.
Customers whose current model has a clean successor in your inventory, where the conversation is a renewal rather than a sale.
What decides whether this works.
Timing beats creativity here. The best-designed lease piece that lands at thirty days out loses to a plain one that landed at one-twenty.
The piece should name their vehicle and their approximate maturity, because a generic lease-end letter reads as a list purchase and gets treated like one.
Be straight about disposition fees, excess mileage and wear. A customer who feels handled at the desk does not lease again.
Every campaign reports the same way.
If a campaign cannot be measured, it cannot be repeated on purpose or stopped on evidence.

Straight answers.
When should a lease-end campaign reach the customer?
Generally ninety to one hundred eighty days before maturity. Earlier than that and the customer is not thinking about it; later and you are arriving after the competing stores and the captive lender have already made contact.
What is a pull-ahead and when is it worth mailing?
A pull-ahead lets a customer end a lease early, usually by waiving or absorbing some remaining payments. It is worth mailing when a manufacturer program or the customer's equity position makes the early exit genuinely affordable — otherwise the piece generates appointments that die at the desk.
Can you use our captive lender's maturity list?
Only with the appropriate agreement and controls in place. Any dealer customer data moves under a signed data processing agreement with encrypted transfer, least-privilege access, approved subprocessors and a deletion schedule.
How do we measure lease retention from a mailer?
By matching the mailed maturity cohort back against delivered and re-leased units after the drop, alongside a campaign-only QR page, tracking number and offer code. Retention is measured on the cohort you mailed, not on the store's overall month.
What does a lease-end campaign cost?
A targeted 10,000-piece postcard campaign generally plans in the $10,500 to $14,500 range. Lease maturity cohorts are often smaller than that, which usually lowers the total while raising the cost per piece. The vendor and postage quote on your actual list is the real number.
