Customers whose last RO falls outside your normal return window — commonly 12, 18 or 24 months, set from your own service history rather than a template.
Home / Dealership programs / SERVICE LANE REACTIVATION
The customers who stopped coming back
are already in your DMS.
Service lane reactivation is the cheapest volume in the store, because you are not buying a stranger — you are recovering a customer who already trusted the shop once. Sire builds the audience out of your own service history, puts a reason to return in front of them, and measures what came back with a dealer matchback rather than a guess.
The audience, defined before
anything is printed.
Audience selection is where a mail campaign is won or lost. These are the selections we work from for this program.
Work that was recommended on a multi-point inspection and never approved. The advisor already made the case; the mailer restates it with a dated reason to book.
Mileage and time-based intervals coming due, aligned to the manufacturer schedule for the models you actually sell.
Customers who bought from the store but have never come back for service — the group most likely to be at an independent shop right now.
What decides whether this works.
One audience, one offer, one drop. A first campaign that tests four things at once teaches you nothing about any of them.
The offer has to be worth a drive: a dated service coupon, a bundled maintenance price, or a specific declined-service recovery — not a generic ten percent.
Your advisors need to know the piece exists before it lands. A mailer the service drive has never seen gets waved off at the desk.
Every campaign reports the same way.
If a campaign cannot be measured, it cannot be repeated on purpose or stopped on evidence.
- 01A unique QR destination and a tracking number that belong to this campaign only
- 02An offer code the advisor enters on the RO
- 03Appointment source captured at booking
- 04Dealer matchback against the mailed list after the drop
- 05Delivered pieces, calls, appointments, ROs written, and service gross — reported against campaign cost
Straight answers.
What is service lane reactivation?
It is a direct-mail campaign built from a dealership's own service records that targets customers who have stopped returning for service. Rather than buying a list of strangers, it reaches people who already have a repair-order history with the store and gives them a dated reason to come back.
How far back should we pull lapsed service customers?
It depends on your store's normal return interval, which is why we read your service history before choosing. Twelve to twenty-four months since the last repair order is the common range, but a store with heavy fleet or lease business often has a different natural window.
How do we know whether the mail actually worked?
Through a dealer matchback: after the drop, the mailed list is compared against repair orders written in the response window, so you can see which specific customers returned. That runs alongside a campaign-only QR page, a tracking number, and an offer code on the RO. Without a matchback you are guessing.
What does a service reactivation campaign cost?
A targeted 10,000-piece postcard campaign generally plans in the $10,500 to $14,500 range. That is a budgeting band only — the real number comes from the vendor and postage quote against your actual audience size, piece specification, and drop schedule.
Do you need access to our customer data?
Yes, and it moves under a signed data processing agreement with encrypted transfer, least-privilege access, approved subprocessors, and a deletion schedule. Your customer list stays yours and is never used for another dealer.
Do you serve dealerships outside Houston?
Sire is based in League City and works Houston, League City, Clear Lake, Webster, Pasadena and the Gulf Coast directly. Campaigns can run for stores outside that footprint, but the local stores get the in-person part of the program.
Start with the audit,
not the invoice.
Tell us the store and the department that needs volume. We will review the public customer journey and come back with one specific campaign direction — the audience, the offer, and what it would cost to run.
